Chondroitin and glucosamine help support joint function and alleviate pain associated with arthritis: glucosamine regulates the production of collagen in cartilage, while chondroitin reduces the activity of injurious enzymes in joint fluid. These two molecules are involved in the synthesis of the cartilage’s building blocks, the glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans.
